Who I Listened To In 2010

I ditched my Scrobbler charts in May of 2010, thus these charts show just over half of what I listened to, and so some of the albums I named as my personal favourites of the year won't have their artists all that high in the charts.

1 BBC Radio 4 182 : News podcasts and TMS casts mainly, and the History Of The World in 100 objects.

2 Katriona Gilmore & Jamie Roberts 140 : I was lucky to see Kat & Jamie performing in Addignham early in the year, their second album was every bit as good as their debut, great new Brit folk.

3 Elizabeth Cook 128 : So in 2010 I finally fell for Country & Western music beyong Johnny Cash, and Cook's quite wonderful Southern drawl had me spellbound.

4 The Buff Medways 126 : Billy Childish has so many bands it can be hard to pick one above the rest, but his lyrics for The Buff Medways are great, poignant tales of real life set to frantic garage rock.

4 The Fighting Cocks 126 : TFC's 3rd album is due in 2011, they should still be a genre defying blend of gypsy rock, techno, electronica and anything else they care to subvert.

4 Crippled Black Phoenix 126 : Songs or soundscapes ? I don't mind which they are, CBP's music is flowing prog rock and touched by an unusual genius.

7 Georg Friedrich Händel 125 : It's all about his Messiah really.

8 A.L. Lloyd 124 : British folk singer, rather rough and ready.

9 Sleigh Bells 123 : NY techno metal
9 Street Sweeper Social Club 123 : RATM with better rapping.
