Australia Make Hay After The Rain

England's bowling at the end of a badly rain affected first day of the third test was shoddy, with the pitch predicted to be flat and lifeless ('a bowler's graveyard' the groundsman was heard to say) the England attack should have concentrated on line and length and making it hard to score runs. Australia should have felt they were under the cosh as over after over crawled by with hardly a run on the board, instead they were treated to numerous off line balls that begged to be hit away for runs.

126-1 after a shortened opening day, but it should have been far less than that.
