July 12th, 1900



A great thunderstorm hit the Wharfe Valley, the streams running down from the moor swelled into raging torrents which swept through through Ilkley causing much damage, in the aftermath of the storm, Ilkley Gazette publisher and local photographer John Shuttleworth recorded the damage.
